This utility is for intermediate and advanced users. If you are new to computers you may want to get someone to give you assistance using this program.
PrepImage is a program written for Windows 9x/NT/2000 which I created to ease creation of PocketJigsaw compatible image files. PrepImage is able to load nearly any JPG (JPeg) or BMP (Bitmap) file and extract a 240 x 240 pixel image from it.
Instructions:
- First, you need an image. This can be a photo from your digital
camera, or whatever you wish.
- For best results, you should now use an image editing program to shrink or
crop the approximate area you will use for the puzzle. For example, if
your image is 1024 x 768, you may want to shrink it down to allow more of
the image to fit in the Puzzle region.
- Unzip PrepImage.zip into a folder on your computer and run PrepImage.exe
- Select File | Open to open the source image.
- The image should appear in the window, with a black rectangle showing you
the region of the Puzzle image. Drag this rectangle to the desired
section of the source image. The picture will scroll as you drag
the rectangle to the edge of the window.
- When you're happy with the selection, hit the Enter key or hit File | Save
to save the selected rectangle as a Jigsaw image.
- If saved successfully, the saved image will be the correct size and format
for use in PocketJigsaw. Simply copy this saved file either to the folder on
your PocketPC where you installed PocketJigsaw, anywhere in your My Documents folder on your device or Storage Card. When you start a new puzzle it should show up in your list for selection.
