Gems Help
Gems has two modes of play. They are identical except for a few small exceptions. The square mode is the one you should start with, as it is the easiest of the two.
To make a move, click on one of your pieces, and then a highlighted destination to move. Squares adjacent to the piece will cause the piece to duplicate, "jumping" more than one square will cause the piece to move. Any adjacent enemy pieces will be absorbed to your color.
Square:
The square mode is set up randomly when you start a new game, and you cannot jump over blocking gray pieces.
Hexagon:
Unlike the square mode, hexagon is setup the same each game you play. You can also jump over blocking squares in this mode.
Toolbar:
- Exit: Exits to the splash screen. You can also use any hard button to exit immediately from the game
- Hex/Square: Hit this button to switch between game modes
- Options: See Options
- New: Start a new game
- Load: Load a saved game
- Save: Save the current game
- Undo: Undoes the last move performed
- Hint: The computer will do your next move if you hit this button.
