Setup Mode

Ever wish you could just change a few things of a board setup while you're playing? Ever want to try something out against the computer? Perhaps you're reading a chessbook and you want to set up a chess tactic...either way the Setup Mode is designed for you.

In this mode you can place new pieces, remove existing pieces, or move pieces around. Use the Ok button to approve a board setup and then specify the starting player, or the cancel button to go back to the game without changing the setup. Note that when you approve a setup any game history or played moves will be lost, the game begins from this position. Hit the "Starting Pos" option to reset the board to the Starting Position, and the "Clear Board" option to clear the board. Also note that you will not be allowed to place more than one king of each color onto the board. Lastly, if a side's King and Rook are in their starting position, the game will allow a castle to that side, as long as it is a legal move (not in check etc).
